Overcomers

Revelation 12:10, 11—Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

It gets me all jacked up knowing that I am on the winning team. I played basketball in college. We were good; I mean top four in the country good (in NCCAA Division II-A). We won many games over the years. Winning was a lot of fun, especially when we beat our archrivals. Those victories seemed to be the sweetest. The spirit realm is no different.

Our “team,” the Kingdom of Heaven, has thoroughly thrashed our archenemies, the kingdom of darkness. Not only will the Kingdom of Heaven prevail ultimately, but it has already won every war, every battle, every conflict, every scrum, and every squabble with Satan and his band of dime-store thugs (known as principalities and powers). The Bible is clear on how we overcome the enemy. The process is twofold:

  1. The blood of the Lamb—Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross of Calvary gave us the gift of eternal life and adopted us into the family of God
  2. The word of our testimony—Because we are children of God, we are to declare His glorious works throughout the earth, especially to those in our sphere of influence. You can’t have a t-e-s-t-i-m-o-n-y without a t-e-s-t. The first test is whether or not you will tell others of God’s great love.

Thanks to God, even everyday screw-ups like you and I can enjoy sweet victory over the enemy. We are on the winning side!

Prayer for Today:

Jesus,

I thank You for casting the devil down. I thank You that I have overcome Satan. Your blood has restored me to a place of victory. With Your help, I cannot lose. Help me share Your love with the world.

Amen

Daily Objective:

As an overcomer, share your testimony of triumph with anyone who will listen.
