My Grace is Sufficient…

II Corinthians 12:9—And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

If it’s God’s grace that has saved us, it should be obvious that His grace will sustain us. The Bible is clear in its discussion of grace. Ephesians 4:7 declares, “But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.” What does that mean to us? Think about it. How large was the “measure” of Christ’s gift? It was boundless! He gave His very life—willingly—to redeem us. There is no greater measure. Therefore, with that same boundless measure, God has given us grace each day.

The grace of God will carry us through our darkest hours and our greatest moments. God understands that we are frail and fallible human beings. He understands that we will make mistakes. He understands we were born with a sin nature, and that very nature wars against the collective spirit of all mankind. God knows we can’t succeed on our own…hence the need for grace. We are too weak to defeat our enemy (Satan) in our own strength. That is why, “My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

We’ve understood our need for a savior. We must now understand the need for His grace to be sufficient for us.

If we rely on God’s grace, even everyday screw-ups like you and I will find supernatural strength when we think we’re at our weakest.

Jesus,

I know I can’t make it on my own. I have tried to go at life my way. It ended in tragedy. I trust You to give me grace for each day. I trust Your strength to be perfect in my weakness. I trust You to take care of me. I thank You that Your grace is sufficient for me. Help me to rest in Your grace.

Amen
